‘O’ Romeo’ is the story of Ustara, a local gangster who lives on a boat with his grandmother. His life changes after Afshan enters with a vengeance. The worlds of Ustara and Afshan collide and bloodshed begins. Shahid Kapoor chooses the razor’s methods very well. His personality change leaves an impact. Tripti Dimri is fantastic as Afshan. Avinash Tiwari’s entry sets the tone right.

Shahid Kapoor is playing this gangster version very well! I am very impressed with the details. The pace of the film is a little slow, and I think you have to sit back and be patient, be loyal to the characters and put your trust in Vishal Bhardwaj. The timeline is clearly stated, but Vishal Bhardwaj keeps reminding us with clever newspaper headlines! None of the supporting actors look out of place, and I feel the film could have developed well in the remaining run.

The script is sharp, the conflicts are intense and the action sequences dominate. Emotional breakdown is woven into the violence, which gives the film both scale and intimacy. The climax has Bhardwaj’s characteristic tragic weight.
