Overall, The Raja Saab is a horror fantasy that only works in pieces and never comes together as a whole. Prabhas’s attempts at comedy are honest but inconsistent. Female characters are given less importance, while the pace of the issues, tonal imbalance and weak story weaken the film. Although the second half offers some charming moments, they do little to enhance the overall experience. The comedy works sporadically, making this film suitable only for die-hard Prabhas fans or genre-inclined viewers, provided expectations are kept firmly in check.

Prabhas’s attempt to bring a light-hearted film amidst the extravagant big budget films could neither become a comedy film nor a horror film. Overall, The Raja Saab is uninspired, uninspired and uninteresting. It can be very difficult for a film to survive at the box office even for a few days. A forgettable film for Prabhas, Maruti and team.

In “The Raja Saab”, Maruti’s basic idea shows promise, but the execution majorly falters. The lack of genuine horror elements and the absence of his trademark comic timing are clearly felt. The old style romantic tracks and flirtatious sequences further weaken the story. The film comes alive in the last half-hour, especially during the mind-game-driven sequences, but overall, The Raja Saab fails to reign as a horror or a comedy.

Raja Saab aspires to be many things – comedy, horror, fantasy, romance – but effectively manages to be none of them. What was intended as a light affair for Prabhas turns into a tired, unfocused farce. Despite moments of promise, the film collapses due to poor writing, overambition, and a lack of narrative discipline.
